Newvani Version 2003

People who have actually looked through some of my art might'veseen a character entitled Newvani, and a note saying that i redraw thatcharacter every April. Well, here he is in 2003 - Darryll E. Newvani, the Weapon of Heaven, the Despot of Justice, the Terrible Protector.

In case you cant make him out, I'll quickly describe the image - Newvani is a large, old man wearing a very-Space-Marine-esque suit of armour, his head being central in the image's top quarter section. On HIS right shoulder, is an immense shoulder ad with an exposed front-section, revealing some sort of heavy machine-gun, or similar cannon - the ammo-feed is hanging down by his chest. The arm on that side is entirely robotic - a simple stick-like upper-arm, encased in a large glove. This arm is holding the mid-section of the staff-part of his immense halberd - the chopping-section of this blade has "PROTECT..." written on it.
Behind this halberd blade, is his armour-encased leg. Opposite that leg is his right bionic leg - nothing more than a simple metal-pole connected by screws and bolts job. Flapping over this leg is his loin-cloth/tabardy-style-cloth thing, which has some-psuedo bible-esque ramblings on it about smiting Daemons.
The Right-arm is similar to the left - another hooj-glove, but the arm is more robust. The shoulder pad is solid, and bears a maltese cross., as well, as a bar partially obscuring this religious icon. Behind Newvani's head are two suppresion-tower things attached to his armour's rear-section - they could be futuristic-flash-light things.
There's a large weapon-handle jutting out the right-hand side of his back. I think he might have a sword there. i'm not too sure.

I'm dead chuffed with how he came out. The bionic sections aren't stereotypical sci-fi big-shiny metal arms, but twigs o' iron, which I like immensely. Ok, so his shouldersare probably disjointed to allow him to wear that armour, but heck, whatchagonnado?

...So anyway, in the end we have a portrayal of a heavily armed, heavily ar,moured character whom I will get sued by Games workshop for who is essentially, a dictator fuelled by his neeed for Justice, who has either a large maltesecross or a Banzxai!style "K-Ching!" shapedlight/thing emmerging from behind him.... But everyone loves him. Yay!
